Scientific name: Paracanthurus hepatus 

Fun fact: Ever wonder why blue tangs are so vibrant in color? It’s to warn of their poison! Eating a blue tang can lead to Ciguatera poisoning, which causes vomiting, hallucinations, and sometimes even breathing problems.

Region: Blue tangs are found in the warm coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific region, making their homes in and around coral reefs where they will use certain coral for protection.
