Scientific Name: Gymnothorax favagineus

Fun fact: This species is also known as the leopard moray eel, tessellate moray or honeycomb moray eel!

Region: Found in areas South of the Red Sea, from the Indian Ocean, in the tropical West Pacific. Usually associated with wrasse and cleaner shrimp. The shrimp benefits from the eel’s protection and the remains of its meals, while the eel gets cleaned and de-wormed by the shrimp!
